Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using Swordkoban, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Swordkoban on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them.

You are responsible for using the service in a way that is lawful where you live. A parent or guardian should supervise use when local law requires their consent. Swordkoban currently does not provide ordinary player accounts or paid gameplay purchases.

Permission to use the game

Swordkoban grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access the public site and play the game for lawful, non-commercial entertainment. This permission does not transfer ownership of the software, artwork, level content, names, text, interfaces, or other materials.

You may share ordinary links to public pages and describe your own puzzle solutions. You may not present the service or its assets as your own product, sell access, remove notices, or copy substantial content for a competing service without permission from the relevant rights holder.

Acceptable use

Use Swordkoban in a way that preserves the service for other players and protects restricted systems. Do not attempt to bypass administration controls, obtain credentials, interfere with the API, or use automated traffic that degrades availability. Public game endpoints are for normal game operation, not unrestricted data extraction.

• Do not probe, exploit, or circumvent security or access controls.
• Do not upload or transmit malware, destructive code, or deceptive requests.
• Do not overwhelm the service with automated traffic, scraping, or repeated requests.
• Do not impersonate the site or use Swordkoban branding to mislead others.
• Do not manipulate advertising, analytics, rankings, or other measurements through artificial activity.
• Do not use the service to violate law or the rights of another person.

Gameplay, progress, and content changes

Published worlds, levels, words, par values, heroes, skill settings, and difficulty may be added, corrected, rebalanced, unpublished, or reordered. A local completion or star value records progress in the current browser but does not create a permanent entitlement to a particular level version or ranking.

Local browser data can be lost when site data is cleared, browser settings change, a private session ends, or a device is replaced. You are responsible for maintaining the browser environment in which local progress is stored. Swordkoban does not promise cloud recovery for ordinary player progress.

Intellectual property and feedback

Swordkoban and its original game presentation, text, code, artwork, level arrangements, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party names, fonts, libraries, analytics, advertising technology, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.

If you voluntarily provide gameplay feedback, level observations, accessibility reports, or suggestions, you allow Swordkoban to use that feedback to operate and improve the service without an obligation to compensate you. This does not transfer ownership of unrelated original material you may include, and you should not submit confidential information.

Third-party services and links

The service relies on third-party infrastructure and may use Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described in the Privacy Policy. Those services may be governed by additional provider terms and privacy policies. A link to an external resource is offered for convenience and does not guarantee its accuracy, availability, or security.

Your browser, network provider, device platform, content blocker, or regional settings can affect whether third-party resources load. Swordkoban is not responsible for independent products or services that it does not control.

Availability and changes

Swordkoban may be updated, interrupted, rate-limited, or temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security, provider outages, content updates, or reasons outside reasonable control. Features may change as the game develops. There is no guarantee that every route, level, hero, score, or integration will remain available indefinitely.

Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to protect the service, enforce these terms, respond to abuse, or comply with law. Restricted administrative routes are not public features and authorization can be revoked independently of public game access.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Swordkoban is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Swordkoban is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use or inability to use the service, loss of browser-local progress, third-party services, or unauthorized activity outside reasonable control. Any responsibility that cannot be excluded is limited only as the applicable law permits.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised to reflect game changes, service providers, legal requirements, or safety needs. The updated date identifies the current version. Continuing to use Swordkoban after revised terms become effective means the revised terms apply to later use, subject to rights that applicable law gives you.

Questions about these terms can be categorized as a policy or rights question through the official contact form. Do not include account passwords, because ordinary players do not need an account to play.
